Genesis Pearson

English: Professional and Public Writing and Communication Studies Majors

About

Hi, I'm Genesis Pearson, a strategic, inquisitive leader and resourceful collaborator. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and English. I am currently working toward a certification in paralegal studies. I am passionate about researching and finding creative solutions to cultivate workplace efficiency. I'm seeking an opportunity to work collaboratively with a legal team to enhance their research and communication skills.

Why Communication Studies?

The decision to double major with Communication Studies was kind of a happy accident. I was always interested in my communication classes and found the discussions to be some of the most insightful. It wasn't until I was informed by my advisor that I had taken so many communication classes for my electives that I could double major without hindering my path to graduation. Communication is a degree that is versatile and important in understanding human life and interaction. Specializing in this field will greatly advance my understanding of workplace efficiency and even in more intimate interpersonal situations.

Originally, I was a major in English with a specification in Professional and Public Writing. I have always believed in the importance of words. As an avid reader, I know how even our smallest decisions to communicate to an audience like word choice can greatly change the way they perceive information. Creative outlets like writing are integral for human connection.
