Jagline Ethnography
This was one of my first research papers. We used the interpretive paradigm to conduct ethnographic research. I chose to study the social norms conducted on the public transportation system for IUI.
I took handwritten notes for this paper. I also sketched each interaction which helped show how certain norms like space were implemented.
What I learned
I learned how to conduct a successful ethnographic study and other means of communication research. This first study helped me learn how to take notes in field, make many observations at once (including sketches for optimal understanding), and create valid research questions.
